‘Learning for Life’
At Creswick we want children to develop a love of learning and to understand what they need to do to be a successful learner. We value each and every child and want to ensure they have a happy and stimulating time with us.
We believe all children can achieve therefore, it is crucial that we promote the development of a growth mindset in all our children which is a belief for themselves that they can achieve. This combined with the knowledge and understanding of how to be a successful learner will support them through their lives in whatever they wish to do.
Our classroom environments are supportive and positive places with clear reminders of the things that can help children to become successful learners e.g. talking to deepen understanding, listening, persevering, practice. Positive self esteem and confidence is important to each child’s success. We want children to enjoy taking risks and not worry about making mistakes, knowing that they can learn from these. We encourage children to be proud of their achievements and each week children share their learning and successes in an assembly.
High expectations and standards are vital throughout the school and we are committed to providing a high standard of teaching in all our classes to ensure the children achieve the very best they can.
We have three ‘Golden Rules’ which we expect all our school community to abide by:
- Show good manners at all times
- Listen to instructions
- Respect each other and all property
These rules ensure that we are developing the thoughtfulness and tolerance towards each other that is so vital in life.
